David Blair

So, in a few words, who in the world are you?
My name is David Blair. I’m the Associate Pastor here at Westminster Bible Church, working predominantly with our student ministry and our worship program. I have been married to my beautiful bride, my (much) better half, and my partner-in-crime, Brittany, for a little over three years. We have one “child,” a beagle-basset mix, Finnick, who is legitimately our pride and joy. (Seriously, you wouldn’t believe how efficiently he can rip up a napkin. Olympic-level stuff.) I’ve been in ministry for approximately 17 years, and I could not be more excited for what God has in store for the city of Westminster and Carroll County through our people!
How awesome is your wife?
Really awesome.
I mean, for real though . . . how AWESOME is she?
She’s pretty much the definition of the word, you know? Like, if I could define “awesome” with Brittany, I would. No questions asked. (Brownie points. Bam.)
What inspires you?
A church that’s full of diversity and is impacting our local community in all facets. I believe that the Gospel is the power of hope and reconciliation for every single person that lives on this planet, and it’s the big drawing point of WBC for me. I look into our congregation, and I see a group of His bride that absolutely loves Jesus and is ready to bring the Kingdom of God to the city of Westminster and beyond. It is so humbling that God has brought Brittany and me here to partner with this amazing church, and my prayer is that we will make disciples of all peoples.
What is something that God is teaching you?
I feel like God has me in a season where He’s asking a really simple question, "Are you satisfied with Me?" He’s been taking me to these incredible scenes of heaven in Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4, and the part of the picture that I’m so drawn to (other than, you know, the majesty and beauty of our God) is the angels. Forever and ever, they will be singing the praises and glories of the One who sits on the throne. And the reason they do is because they are SO fulfilled in what they were created to do. Their satisfaction is found fully in the God who spoke the universe into existence. And we’ve been invited to drink deeply the goodness and satisfaction of our God. I want to experience this on a moment-by-moment basis, and God continues to weigh that on my heart!
Some quick-fire stats:
Favorite Sport: Basketball and volleyball (Cop-out, I know)
Favorite Food: Korean barbecue (This is a question? Really?)
Favorite Song: “Fix You” by Coldplay
Top 5 Music Artists Today: Jon Bellion, Matt Redman, JT, Trip Lee, and Housefires
Dream Vacation Spot: Somewhere in Italy with my lady!
What do you do with your free time? What’s this “free time” you speak of?
An interesting thing about you: I . . . don’t like Christmas music. (Please don’t hurt me.)
